A Place to Put it Down: Generative Workshop
A Place to Put it Down: Generative Workshop
Using Poetry as a Path to Healing
Anne Carson writes, “You remember too much, my mother said to me recently. Why hold onto all that? And I said, Where can I put it down?” Even more than craft, poetry is a place for compassion and community, for processing and healing. It is a place to “put it down.” Join award-winning poet Kelly Grace Thomas for this introductory
workshop led in a warm environment where we will use poetry as a path to both creativity and catharsis. All levels welcome. No experience necessary.
In this workshop, participants will:
Craft poetry to process their feelings and pave a path towards healing
Use sensory imagery, and metaphor to examine emotion and experience
Examine the way word choice changes perspective
Write in a warm, compassionate community
Cancellation Policy: Tuition is non-refundable 48 hours prior to the workshop or first workshop in the series. If you are unable to attend, you will be sent the recording and materials 24 hours after the workshop. You can also gift or sell your spot to another participant.
